The Symbiosis Law Admission Test (SLAT) is the entrance exam for five-year law programmes at Symbiosis law schools.
It is conducted by Symbiosis International (Deemed University) for campuses in Pune, Noida, Nagpur and Hyderabad.
SLAT 2027 is a computer based test on two dates, and the best of two attempts counts.
Yes, Class 12 students appearing in 2027 can apply, according to eligibility guidance published by several education portals. The catch is that SLAT 2027 eligibility depends on your final Class 12 marks, which arrive after the test. This guide, written for Class 12 students and parents, explains the rules, the timeline and the laws behind them in plain language. It is part of our SLAT 2027 guide series.

How Class 12 Appearing Students Can Apply for SLAT 2027
You can register while your board exams are pending. Your admission stays provisional, meaning conditional, until you prove you passed with the required marks. Even a strong SLAT score cannot secure a seat if your final result falls below the minimum.
Process at a glance: Register by 4 Dec 2026 → Take SLAT on 19 or 26 Dec → Result on 12 Jan 2027 → Shortlisting for the Personal Interaction (PI), an interview-style round → Class 12 results → Submit proof of passing → Admission confirmed
Keep your photograph, signature, Class 10 certificate and ID ready. For Class 12, upload whatever the portal asks for, such as an admit card or school proof.

Exceptions and Special Categories
SC and ST candidates need 40 percent. Candidates with a benchmark disability may seek accommodations through the helpdesk. There is no upper age limit, so repeaters and gap-year students can apply. Rules for other categories can vary, so check the brochure.
Penalties and Remedies
- Penalties: a forged marksheet or false claim can cancel your candidature and attract criminal liability under BNS Sections 318, 336 and 340. Falling below the minimum marks means no admission, even with a high SLAT score.
- Remedies: write to the admissions helpdesk for document or eligibility doubts. Report fake “guaranteed admission” offers at cybercrime.gov.in or on 1930.
